Every part of the world knows about yoga. Though it is of Indian Origin, the whole world knows its importance and practices. Hundreds and hundreds of yoga institutes today are teaching yoga. Thousands and Thousands are practicing or aspiring to practice yoga today.

Yoga has been institutionalized. Every yoga institute teaches yoga in a special way as if it has invented yoga. They keep the techniques as their private property.  They simply modify the techniques taught by traditional yoga scriptures or yogic guru Parampara. Do they have private property rights over the techniques?

Earlier, the approach of yoga was to have spiritual advancement. Now it the approach is to have better mental and physical health. Under the circumstances, the very concept yoga has been forgotten. Now a days, yoga used to mean only the postural aspect of yoga. Hence a right understanding of yoga is required. For this, a classic yoga study is required.

In India, until the influence of western culture, yoga had not been institutionalized or commercialized. Earlier no yoga guru was teaching yoga for making money. Of course, they accepted some money as Guru Dakshina. Money was not their motive.

But a modern day Guru makes huge money by institutionalizing the yoga. The techniques taught by him are those techniques taught by our Yoga scriptures or Guru Parampara. He just modifies the technique and gives a new name.

Yoga is not private property. Indian sages taught it for the betterment of mankind.    The knowledge of yoga scriptures like yoga upanishads, yoga sutra etc., will make the aspirant understand the commercialization of yoga.

Everyone who is aspiring to learn yoga should have knowledge of yoga scriptures. Hence the aim of this blog is to disperse the knowledge of yoga scriptures. It is a typical classic yoga study.

The mission of this yoga website is to serves as an online platform of yoga resource. A resource of yoga philosophy and practice wherein anyone can find every term of yoga clearly mentioned and described.
